On 1 September 2026 Samsung announced a new 14-inch Galaxy Book6, expanding the Galaxy Book6 lineup with what it calls a more accessible model designed for everyday computing. The US arm of the company announced it a day earlier, on 31 August. It is not one of the CES 2026 launches: the Galaxy Book6 Ultra and Galaxy Book6 Pro came first, and this model arrives eight months later with lower-tier Intel processors and a starting price of 799 dollars. This page collects what Samsung published in its global and US newsrooms, points out where the numbers differ, and separates this model from an earlier Galaxy Book6 that shares its screen size and name.

What Samsung says it is for

Samsung's announcement is explicit about the target: everyday tasks such as browsing the web, creating documents, video calls, multitasking and streaming. In the words of Mincheol Lee, head of the Galaxy Ecosystems Business Team, Samsung wanted "to make the Galaxy Book experience available for more people", and at a more accessible price it brings together dependable performance, long-lasting battery life, connected Galaxy experiences and the design language of the Galaxy Book6 family. The release places it in the family rather than as a stripped-down side product: it keeps the symmetrical design, the centred logo and the Galaxy AI feature set, while dropping the AMOLED panel, the vapor chamber and the extra ports of the higher models.

Processor and NPU

The processor is an Intel Core 3 or Intel Core 5 from what Samsung calls the Intel Core Series 3 family. That is a different tier from the Core Ultra chips in the Ultra and Pro. The specification table lists Intel Graphics and an Intel NPU rated at up to 15 TOPS, compared with up to 50 TOPS on the Ultra and Pro. Samsung's release says the processor brings Intel's latest architecture and power efficiency to essential PC tasks and supports Galaxy AI and other AI features, but it publishes no benchmark figures and no clock speeds, so none are quoted here. The 15 TOPS figure is worth noting because Samsung's own materials tie Copilot+ PC compatibility to the Core Ultra Series 3 processors in the higher models; this release does not say the value model is a Copilot+ PC, and this page does not claim it is.

Display

The screen is a 14.0-inch LCD at WUXGA, 1920 x 1200, rated at 350 nits, in a 16:10 shape. Samsung says the taller format gives more vertical space for documents, web pages and multitasking, and that an anti-reflective, anti-glare finish minimises reflections. It is not a touchscreen and not OLED; the value model uses a standard LCD. Samsung's release gives no refresh rate, colour-gamut or contrast numbers for this panel, so those are unknown from the sources read.

Battery and charging

The battery is 61.2 Wh typical capacity, and Samsung says it delivers up to 25 hours on a single charge, with 45W fast charging restoring about 33 percent in 30 minutes. One caveat is important. In the global release, the footnote to the 25-hour claim describes only how the typical battery capacity was measured under IEC 61960 in a third-party laboratory, and says that real battery life varies with network, usage and other factors. It does not describe a playback test with a brightness setting, unlike the more detailed footnotes on the Ultra and Pro. So the 25 hours is a Samsung figure without published test conditions in the pages read, and it should be treated as an upper bound. The charger in the box is a 45W USB Type-C adapter.

Design, keyboard and ports

The Galaxy Book6 14-inch measures 313.0 x 221.0 x 15.7 mm and weighs 1.35 kg. Samsung offers it in two colours: Violet Silver, which is a first for the Galaxy Book line, and a classic Gray. The keyboard is a Pro keyboard without backlighting, the trackpad is a clickpad and the sound is a 2W x 2 stereo pair with Dolby Atmos. The camera is 2MP at 1080p with dual-array microphones. Samsung highlights that its two USB Type-C ports offer the same functionality, so either can be used, and that the laptop also has one USB Type-A port, an HDMI 1.4 port supporting 4K at 30 Hz and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Wi-Fi is Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth 5.4, not the Wi-Fi 7 of the higher models. Operating system options are Windows 11 Pro 25H2 or Windows 11 Home 25H2, and the table also lists Linux, console only.

Memory and storage

Memory is LPDDR5X in 8GB or 16GB. Storage is a PCIe SSD, and here the documents disagree. Samsung's global specification table and text list 256GB, 512GB or 1TB. The US release says buyers can choose between 256GB and 512GB, without mentioning 1TB. Because the US page describes the configurations sold at Samsung.com and Amazon in the United States, the most reasonable reading is that a 1TB version exists elsewhere but not in the initial US offering, though Samsung does not say so. Memory upgrades after purchase are not addressed in this release; earlier Galaxy Book6 material states that memory on the Ultra cannot be upgraded after purchase, but that is a statement about a different model.

Galaxy features

Like the rest of the family, the value model carries Galaxy AI features. Samsung lists AI Select with AI cut out, Note Assist, Quick Share, Storage Share, Multi Control, Second Screen, Nearby Devices and Link to Windows. As on the other models, they come with conditions: a shared Samsung account, recent phone and tablet software, and in some cases a network connection. Basic Galaxy AI features are free according to Samsung's footnote. Samsung Care+ is offered for accidental damage, repairs and replacements.

The other Galaxy Book6 14-inch

A source of confusion is that Samsung already had a Galaxy Book6 in 14 inches, announced at CES in January 2026. That earlier model was listed with Intel Core Ultra 7 or 5, an Intel NPU up to 49 TOPS, a 313.4 x 221.1 x 14.9 mm body at 1.48 kg, a 61.2 Wh battery, a 45W charger, Wi-Fi 6E, two USB Type-C, two USB Type-A, HDMI, microSD and RJ45 ports, and a US starting price of 1,049.99 dollars for the Galaxy Book6 line. The September 2026 model is lighter at 1.35 kg but slightly thicker at 15.7 mm, has one fewer USB-A port and drops the RJ45 and microSD slots listed in that earlier table. Both share the 61.2 Wh battery. Samsung's UK price list from February 2026 shows a Galaxy Book6 14 at 949 pounds with a Core Ultra 5, 16GB and 256GB. The two products are different machines sold under similar names, and this page covers only the September 2026 model.

Price and availability

Samsung's global release quotes a starting price of 799 dollars, and the US release 799.99 dollars. The US release says the laptop is available on Amazon from 21 September 2026 and on Samsung.com from 6 October 2026, in Violet Silver and Gray. The global release says it is available in select markets, with more to follow. Availability, specifications and colours can vary by region.

Where it sits

The value model competes with the affordable ultraportables in our database. The closest are the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED and the ASUS Vivobook S 14; our Galaxy Book6 versus Vivobook S 14 comparison sets their specifications side by side. Bottom line

The 14-inch Galaxy Book6 is Samsung's attempt to bring the Galaxy Book look and ecosystem to a price under 800 dollars. What it trades away is clear from Samsung's own table: a Core 3 or Core 5 processor, a 15 TOPS NPU, a 350-nit LCD, Wi-Fi 6E, HDMI 1.4 and no backlit keyboard. What it keeps is a 1.35 kg body, a large 61.2 Wh battery with a 25-hour claim, and the Galaxy features. Take the 25 hours with caution because its test conditions are not published, and check which storage sizes your market offers.
